The Foreign Office has strongly urged all British nationals to leave Yemen "in light of the rapid deterioration in the security situation".Britons are being encouraged to get out of the middle eastern country while commercial airlines are still flying, ahead of pro-democracy protests on Friday that may result in violent clashes.
It has been advising against all travel to Yemen since March 4 and urging British nationals to leave immediately since March 12.
A Foreign Office statement said: "We urge all parties in Yemen to exercise the utmost restraint and take all steps necessary to defuse tension on the ground.
