A 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck the eastern coast of Honshu, Japan The quake struck at 3:08 a.m. UTC just 77 km (47 miles) from Tokyo. Its epicenter was located with a depth of 13.1 km (8.1 miles).
No damage or casualties were reported and no tsunami alert followed.
