Christopher Gribble, 21, who hacked Kimberley Cates to death while her seriously injured 11-year-old daughter Jaimie watched, had his insanity plea rejected by a New Hampshire jury.
Brave victim Jaimie looked on as Judge Gillian Abramson sentenced Gribble to a life behind bars, telling him, 'infinity is not enough jail time.'
For the first time in the proceedings, victim Jaimie Cates, now 12, appeared in the courtroom and witnessed the sentencing.
The court heard how during the attack she lay bloodied and feigning death on the bedroom floor.
Opening one eye, the court heard how Jaimie remained still as she watched Gribble plunge a knife into her mother's throat.
Despite the fact her 42-year-old mother Mrs Cates died in the attack, most of Gribble's knife blows targeted Jaimie.
Gribble had earlier admitted he took part in the October 4, 2009, home invasion along with convicted killer Steven Spader.
